뉴질랜드교통국(NZTA)는 와이탕이 연휴가 이어지고 있는 가운데 다가오는 2월 7일부터 11일까지 많은 주요 고속도로 폐쇄가 일어날 것이기 때문에 운전자들은 미리 계획을 세우라고 당부하고 있다.
뉴질랜드교통국(NZTA)는 달리 명시되지 않는 한, 아래 일정에 따라 주 고속도로 일시 폐쇄가 오후 9시에 시작하여 오전 5시에 끝날 것이라고 안내했다.
또한, 모든 폐쇄는 기상조건과 기타 요인에 따라 달라져 취소되거나 지연될 수 있다고 덧붙였다.
도로 폐쇄로 영향을 받는 노선을 여행하는 사람은 누구나 표시된 우회로를 따라 가라고 당부했다.
이번 폐쇄 조치는 와이탕이 휴일을 맞아 시내를 드나드는 노선의 극심한 혼잡이 예상됨에 따라 나온 것이다.
오클랜드 또는 다른 도시로 떠나거나 돌아올 수 있는 가장 좋은 시간을 계획하고자 하는 사람들을 위해 NZTA는 운전자들이 미리 알아볼 수 있는 교통 알림을 출시했다.
